Thank you for such a lovely stay in November 2022. We traveled from the United States. The one requirement I had for our trip was to stay in a home with deep historical roots. Midford Mill completely met this requirement. From the exposed beams and sloped floors to the views and modern conveniences, I truly felt at home. We are considering another trip to enjoy this home and the surrounding idyllic countryside.
I hope we can come back during the summer months so that we can enjoy the outdoor areas more fully.

Truly a lovely home with a very quick drive to Bath!

Lee Strohm,

Great home with lovely kitchen and bathrooms. Bedrooms were all exceptional. We love the warmth of log burner and aga with zero temperatures outside and even lower! The back garden was beautiful with amazing outlook to brook, trees and meadow beyond. We saw deer, birds of prey, egrets and dippers! Excellent location to get to Bath but also country pub just 5 minutes away.

Sara Jane,

Great stay!

Clayton,

We stayed at The Mill House for a hen do weekend and it couldn’t have been more perfect! The house is beautiful and close to some great countryside walks, but also super close to Bath! Thank you Nigel!

Alanna,

Absolutely delightful property, magical setting next to the river, large area for sitting out and extensive garden. Sumptuous bedrooms, very comfy beds. Very well equipped kitchen, loved the Aga, house was lovely and warm. Lots of nice extra touches. Some low ceilings if you’re tall, busy road, tricky parking. Great meal at local pub, Hope and Anchor. Great walk starting from pub car park along old railway line. Nigel responded quickly, answering questions and sorting a minor issue. We loved our stay at the Millhouse, a friends reunion, perfect!

Jocelyn,

My family and I stayed at this beautiful property for my daughter's wedding weekend.
The character of this property is amazing, combined with the spacious grounds. The detail given to bedding, towels, equipment, etc was excellent, and our time there was enjoyed by all my family, it couldn't have been better. Communications with with Nigel (Property Manager) were also excellent, as he was very helpful with the booking, when we had to cancel the wedding twice, due to the Covid Pandemic - many thanks Nigel. I will have no problem recommending Midford Mill to anyone - absolutely perfect.

Peter Martin,

Such a beautiful, peaceful escape. We loved how near it was to the Two Tunnels walking path to Bath.

Jenna,

Fabulous property We had the most amazing time at the Mill It was perfect for our needs We stayed Weds through till Mon with our family and our daughter's bridesmaids as we were celebrating our daughters Wedding in a nearby Church in Widecombe, they all commented how wonderful the property was and we had everything we needed. It was so lovely to be able to prepare for the wedding in such a relaxed and wonderfully comfortable enviroment Thankyou Nigel Jo Do not hesitate to rent this property you will not be disappointed !!!!

Joanne,

What an exquisite home to stay. THANK YOU THAK YOU THANK YOU! It was far beyond our expectations. We had a lovely stay and FOR SURE be back!

Quint,

Lovely house in a lovely location! The photos don’t do the area by the water justice!

Melza,

Fabulous house and outside area for a family gathering. Plenty of space for our wide range of ages to explore and relax. Definitely recommend 👍

Lyn,

Great property. Everything as detailed, no complaints! Loved it 😊

Stuart,

Had a great time there and thoroughly enjoyed the house !

Helen,

Absolute stunning house in the most beautiful setting. Full of character. The pictures do not do it justice. The property far exceeded everyone's expectations. Gorgeous romantic bedrooms and bathroom. Lovely comfortable beds. Fully equipped large kitchen. Just everything was perfect. The outside area was just as amazing and so picturesque overlooking the weir and fields behind. We will most definitely be returning. Wonderful weekend.

Charlotte Ford,

The house was stunning, every room was beautiful. 10/10 house.

Emma,

We had a wonderful stay at Midford Mill. The house is absolutely beautiful! Nigel was an excellent host. I would definitely stay again. All of the bedrooms are gorgeous and the beds are so comfy! We slept so well as it is so peaceful and tranquil. The bathrooms are also stunning and very clean. We were so impressed with the property and would love to stay again one day.

Paige Younger,

We had a fantastic time staying here. The grounds are huge, providing plenty of space to enjoy the river which runs alongside the property and enjoy meals outside. It's only about a 10 minute drive / bus journey into the centre of Bath, or it's walkable along the cycle route if you have over an hour to spend walking there. Nigel was always on hand to answer any questions we had and was very helpful. A great option if you want to enjoy Bath and the surrounding area without staying right in the centre.

David,

Nigel is a fantastic host and very helpful regarding the property. I had my sister’s hen weekend at The Maltings and it was so beautiful and it was one of the few properties that had a large 10 seating dining table where we could all sit together for an evening private meal.

Shivani,

Great location. House lovely and clean. Bus stop so near by a plus. We didn’t use the car once after we had arrived. Very welcoming pub on the doorstep.

Valerie,

Really wonderful stay. the house is beautiful and plenty of room for everybody to relax. 10 from bath in taxi which is very convenient. Only down side is parking. there is a lay-by immediately outside house for 2 cars and another on the opposite side of rd however the road is busy so crossing is a bit of a hazard. otherwise everything is perfect.

Chris,

A beautiful property perfect for large groups which has everything you could need. Close proximity to Bath.

Hannah,

one of the most beautiful Airbnbs I have ever stayed in. listening to the river outside your window really helped myself and my friends relax and really get into the holiday spirit. quick 10minutes drive into Bath City and the views are stunning. would highly recommend to anyone wanting some downtime with friends or family

Sarsi,

We had an excellent stay - the house was amazing and great communication. Would highly recommend.

Jack,

Really beautiful stay in Bath. House was lovely and cosy. Kitchen well stocked. Garden overlooking the river was beautiful. Close to bath city centre. Would definitely recommend.

Zac,

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would really recommend this lovely place to stay, beautiful property!

Nisha-Jane,

Fantastic property, beautifully clean and stunning gardens, thank you for a great weekend. The only downside was the lack of parking.

Pauline,

Stunning house great size bedrooms. Very clean and perfect location. Garden and surrounds were unbeatable. Recommend this property to everyone. Thanks Nigel

Ross,

Tastefully renovated and very comfortable old mill house. The noise from the water coming over the weir totally drowns out the traffic noise from the road side. Excellent pub 5 minutes walk away.

Keith,

Just got back from an amazing weekend at Midford Mill. The house was perfect, we didn’t want to leave! Stunning property, perfect location for taxis/driving in to bath city centre. Amazing garden and the river outside was so relaxing. We had such a relaxing cosy stay, trying to think of a excuse to go back again! Nigel got back to us straight away with any queries.

Briony,

We had a great stay in Bath, the house was amazing for all 8 of us! It was quite but lovely to hear the water running past outside! It was only 20mins from Bath centre and across the road on your left there is a small cosy pub! We’d definitely recommend this house to others :)

Leanne,

We have just returned from our stay at Midford. The grounds and the house were stunning. Our party had ages ranging from 84 years to 5 months old and therefore at times we struggled to heat the house fully for all our needs, but what can you expect from a grade 2 listed building? Otherwise could not fault this property. To wake up every morning with the running water from the river was just magical. A quaint and rustic home where some beautiful family memories have been made.

Amy,

was a good stay - nice big place and close to bath Centre

David,

We had such a lovely stay. A beautiful, spacious and cozy home!! Close to Bath and with a lovely pub just around the corner! We were a party of seven and the space was ideal. The gardens are gorgeous!

Ciara,

I have just celebrated my 70 birthday at this wonderful house with my family. It really is beautiful with lots of places to sit and relax in. We were extremely lucky with the weather ,so we were outside most of the time on the lovely patio area. The beds in this house are just so comfortable, which everyone commented on. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need. We watched the kingfisher arrive every morning on the water. My family all walked into Bath on Saturday along the old railway line where they started by the Hope& Anchor pub. We had a wonderful 3 days. I hope we shall be able to come back to this wonderful house again in the future.

Margaret,

2nd to 5th September 2021 - Wonderful stay and perfect place to base ourselves for our Daughters wedding. The setting was beautiful and the Mill has everything that we needed. The Kingfishers were certainly busy as were the bats at night. The local pub (Hope and Anchor) was every good and we were made very welcome. It is easily within walking distance. Nigel's communication was excellent. Overall cannot recommend enough.

Carl and Sue Day,

One of the very best family holidays we have had.

Ben,

This is a beautiful property in a stunning waterside location. It has been tastefully refurbished and remains true to its heritage. It's proximity to the lovely city of Bath makes it a perfect destination for relaxation with plenty to do on its doorstep. We look forward to returning in the future.

Mark,

An absolutely stunning house in the most beautiful location. Communication with Nigel was faultless and we would definately recommend this accommodation. The bride to be was blown away by it and we all had a fab time. Thank you for having us!”

Cassie,

Fabulous property in a lovely location not far from Bath. Accommodation is beautiful with four very large bedrooms which can easily sleep 10. We had the best possible week with the family, the worst part was leaving. Chef Carolina cooked for us one evening which was absolutely wonderful. would happily return.

Steve Wells,

We absolutely loved our stay at Midford Mill. The cottage is beautiful, well equipped and comfy. The grounds are stunning and the perfect place for al fresco dining and evening drinks (if the weather allows!)

Communication throughout was excellent from Nigel who was always very friendly.

We’ve already decided to return in the future.

Thanks so much!

Carrie Nuamah,

Absolutely stunning property with amazing gardens where we will hopefully return soon! The location is absolutely perfect for going into bath, but even just spending a week around the house, beautiful garden and Midford would be enough for me !

Ida,

Absolutely stunning house for a weekend away with some fiends. The house and all it’s furnishings was beautiful and the communication and information provided about the house was excellent. We all really loved our stay and can’t wait to visit again.

Ruth,

We had a fab stay for my mums 60th birthday. The house was quite easy to find and only a 10 min car journey to central Bath where we enjoyed good food and lots of shopping and sight seeing. The house was so clean and tidy, beds were comfy and the view from the bedroom windows was just fab. Nigel's communication was so fast which was helpful. We will definitely be back. Thank you for having us.

Antonia,

Amazing place and great host!

Peter,

We spent a wonderful, relaxing weekend at The Mill. The accommodation was all and more than we hoped for. The Mill is situated in beautiful countryside, ideal for walking. Communication with Nigel was prompt and positive, thank you so much.

Janine,

A fantastic property with a beautiful outside entertaining space overlooking the river and old mill. We did a fabulous walk into Bath which took us a couple of hours and the local pub is lovely. The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed cooking on the Aga, which also kept us beautifully warm. Highly recommended

Angela,

Fabulous grounds great house with all amenities you will need. All the photos on grid represent the space perfectly. This is a listing that did not disappoint.

Elizabeth,

Beautiful house! The host was very accommodating. We would definitely come back!

Chemsi,

The Mill House is the perfect stay for the family. The house is spacious, cosy and comfortable. The outdoor space is lovely as well. The house has everything you might need for a weekend or a longer stay. We loved the fireplace that we used every evening. The location is remote and is private, and yet it's very close to Bath by car. The Mill House is highly recommended. Thank you so much Nigel for you super quick responses and support.

Anna,

Midford Mill is an amazing house that is full of charm. It features indoor and outdoor spaces that are full of character. Beautifully located next to a flowing river and in close proximity to Bath town centre, it is the perfect place for a vacation. Our host Nigel has been delightful from the start - quick to respond to questions, very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Amine,

What a place - I’m not sure the pictures do it quite the justice it deserves but everything was outstanding. We even saw a little otter slide into the river from the snug!

Matt,

Excellent break booked at short notice. Lovely house, full of character, in great location for exploring Bath and surrounding areas. We loved it.

Susannah,

Stunning home, exactly as expected. Beautiful area & property.

Harriet,

Lovely house in beautiful grounds just outside Bath. Extremely comfortable rooms with your own private riverside at the back of the house. The front entrance is on a bit of a busy road (be very careful with young children) but you don't hear the traffic once you're in the house. We really enjoyed having Caroline come cook for us too - made it feel very special

Andrew,

“An absolutely stunning and incredibly unique house. Sitting and drinking coffee outside whilst hearing the babble of the Brook felt very relaxing. We walked along the two tunnels track into Bath which we would thoroughly recommend. Thank you for sharing this beautiful space with us.”

Vicki,

"Just to let you know we have arrived home after a lovely stay at your wonderful house. As for fishing we only went down the river for a couple of hours on Wednesday evening. Once again I would like to compliment you about the property it is such a lovely period house we couldn’t have wished for better and more relaxing break."
Thanks again

Colin,

“Fantastic space in a picturesque setting. Spacious rooms and comfy beds. Very homely and cosy. Some lovely country walks nearby and I would advise a trip to the Wheatsheaf pub.”

Freya,

“This is a fantastic base for exploring bath and the surrounding countryside - a truly beautiful house and stunning garden set next to a brook where we spotted kingfishers and dippers every day. The beds are all extremely comfortable and there’s plenty of room inside and out for a large family group, although there is only one shower and a large bath tub. There are loads of wonderful walking routes very close to the house and the two tunnels greenway (disused railway line) is an exciting and scenic way to get to bath centre and beyond. Nigel was very quick to respond to all our queries and check-in was really easy and convenient. We would highly recommend the mill house, we had a very special and memorable family holiday - thank you Nigel.”

Amanda,

“Beautiful house and grounds, really well equipped kitchen and very clean. Loved cooking on the AGA for the first time! Really great house for a weekend getaway and perfect location to explore the nearby countryside whilst only being a 10 minute drive in to the centre of Bath. Nigel was a great host, always responding very quickly to any queries we had. Would definitely recommend this place!”

Danielle,

Absolutely stunning property with amazing gardens where we will hopefully return soon! The location is absolutely perfect for going into bath, but even just spending a week around the house, beautiful garden and Midford would be enough for me !

Ida,

I would like to say a massive thank you to Nigel for all your help and always being on the other end of the phone when needed.
We have just returned from the most incredible 3 night stay.
The weather was completely against us but it truly didn’t stop us all having the most memorable weekend.
The house is stunning and has everything you could ever wish for and there is no expense spared when it comes to bedding, towels and cutlery etc.
We will definitely be heading back year on year.
Thank you again!
Jen

Jen Pond,

We had a really lovely stay at the mill with friends. The house is charming and very unique. We loved the nook at the end of the kitchen where you can sit and have coffee as the water cascades just below. While there we had charming local nutritionist and chef Caroline Chiltern Bates over to cook us a delicious dinner. She cooked on the Aga using fresh local produce. She also came back in the morning and made us a hearty full English breakfast. She was recommended to us by Nigel and I would highly recommend her too. She cleared away and left the kitchen sparkling clean which was a real luxury treat. . We also had the table decorated with beautiful flowers by local florist Felicity Davies. It is very easy to get from the house into Bath even if you don’t have a car. We were a large party with several overseas guests so using taxis worked perfectly. We also had a great meal one night at The Hope and Anchor pub which is a two minute walk up the road. The rooms are all spacious and have lots of character Nigel was a great host, was very helpful in his recommendations and always responded quickly to any queries. We would definitely love to go back. If visiting Bath you truly have the best of town and country.

Ruth,

Really comfortable house , with plenty of room (although we did spend the majority of our time in the main sitting room around the fire playing games!) Great quality bed linen and towels, well equipped kitchen and prompt responses from our host. Would highly recommend

Jayne,

Beautiful house in a great location, spacious and comfortable.

John,

A wonderful house with heritage charm. Luxury interiors and wonderful countryside views across the water and fields. Cosy lounge spaces with gorgeous wood burning fire.

Adam B,

Perfect accommodation for our family wedding in the Bath area

Tanya,

Quirky cottage style mixed with modern style home. Warm welcoming home with plenty of space for ten guests. Everything provided for your stay whether it’s summer or winter. Loved the Xmas tree and decor ready for our visit to the Bath Xmas market.

Carol,

The Mill House is a unique property and is exactly as described. The beds are very comfortable , the kitchen and dining area are perfect for large families. We loved the wood burning fire place.

Steve W,

This is a very interesting 500 year old house in a pretty stunning setting. It has bags of history, character and atmosphere, and feels very unique and special. Set in a tiny rural village, next to a river with a powerful weir and surrounded by gardens and woodland. The house is very spacious with 2 lovely sitting rooms ( one with a wood burning stove) 4 bedrooms ( 2 of which sleep 3) a good sized kitchen, dining room and sitting area and 2 bathrooms. Although it sleeps 10 people there is only 1 shower. The other bathroom only has a large freestanding bath. It has lovely furnishings, generous, high quality bedding, rugs and bed linen/ towels, an Aga in the kitchen, and a really good TV system with a huge screen. We were very comfy in the house. It was decorated for Christmas. There was ample crockery, glassware and cutlery, pans and a certain amount of kitchen equipment. There was a shelf of books in the sitting area of the dining room. Also a very attractive outside dining area with quality furniture.

Sue,

Our only regret is that we had too little time to stay. A wonderful property. Rarely do you find a listing where it's even better than you expected.

Robert P,

Fabulous

Anon,

Beautiful property with a fabulous garden...... great for a family get together. Great communication

Zoe,

Lovely old mill in beautiful setting. There was lots of room and interesting areas to sit and enjoy the scenery. Great place to experience time passed.

Sharon H,

The Mill is such a gorgeous space. Well decorated and equipped but still cozy and charming. Lovely comfy beds and warm duvets. The garden is gorgeous - children definitely need very close adult supervision - they can't play out alone. Nigel and Sarah were so quick to reapond to any issues we had. A really wonderful stay!

Claire,

Wonderful property beautifully and creatively converted for residential use. The architect/owners have done a marvellous job to create a luxurious, modern home, while retaining the feel of the old mill.

Steve,

Incredible property with outstanding beauty. It was such a pleasure to spend a few days here

Nat,

Exceptional

Natalia,

10 girlfriends stayed for my big birthday - not only is the house beautiful and spacious, everything inside & out is high spec - lovely big sofas where we spent one entire day in our PJs drinking prosecco & watching films, really comfortable mattresses & bedlinen, the kitchen was fully stocked with plenty of glasses, plates, cutlery etc for 10 people, plenty of seating outside too. I've stayed in lots of places in big groups & they rarely have everything we need in relation to seating & kitchen equipment so this made a huge difference. Nigel was great to deal with & we met Alan too - both really friendly and laid back. We were so comfortable all weekend, it was lovely. I never bother leaving a review because I not normally overly impressed but this is a fabulous place to stay, the owners haven't cut corners in any way which makes a refreshing change. I'm sure I'll be back with family.

Louise Daniels,

I didn't think the Mill House could possibly live up to the (Website hidden by Airbnb) so did! Most beautiful home I've ever stayed in and had everything we needed. Would love to come and stay again!

Jordan,

This is a beautiful property in a fabulous location. We were two families having a break away together and there was enough space for everyone to enjoy the house and garden. Amazing bike routes from the house and an added bonus is a lovely pub within walking distance,
We may well be back. I definitely recommmend this property.

Caroline Harries,

This is a beautiful 500 year old home in a stunning location. It's spacious and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the kitchen with the fantastic aga stove and chose to eat in a couple of evenings so that we could make some great meals. The house is situated right on the street, it's not set back at all but we didn't hear the traffic. The stream behind the property is lovely and soothing to listen to - across the stream we could see cows grazing. Very serene. It takes about 10-12 minutes to drive into the city center. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you.

Leslie, Bradenton, FL,

Inès, Belgium,

Superb property, photos don't do it justice on the website
· The living space downstairs
· The Aga - Not practical to cook for the number of guests able to stay using the aga. Could do with an additional conventional oven.

Eli, UK,

Spent a lovely weekend in this gorgeous house when visiting for our cousins wedding! Fitted the family comfortably with a stunning garden to enjoy the summer evenings in. We all were very sad to leave! Thanks for a great stay!

Louisa, East Grinstead, United Kingdom,

You wont be disappointed.

Adrianna,

Travelling with 9 family members and everyone loved the house. Staying in such an historic home was wonderful.

The experience of staying in such a unique house in such a beautiful setting was amazing.everyone loved it .the local bus goes into Bath and only takes 12min.The Hope &Anchor pub is virtually across the road serving great food. Sarah & Nigel are great hosts. Midford mill is a very beautiful relaxing home to stay in. All beds very comfortable fully equipped kitchen and history in every room.loved every minute 😁🥂

Jennifer (Australia),

We loved our stay at this beautiful property, would happily recommend.
The standard of the finishes of the property were very high. The garden area was lovely.

Sarah,

Very picturesque location

Nicola (GG),

Unique property close to Bath
A very special house indeed. Gorgeous interior, spacious, lovely garden for the kids. The perfect countryside retreat whilst very close to Bath.

Lucille Abendanon,

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at this wonderful house, its stunningly beautiful, peaceful and tranquil setting is a joy to behold, with the river running through the garden this is a truly holistic breakaway that we needed. The beds are without doubt the most comfortable we have ever slept in away from home, the kitchen has everything you could possibly need and the Aga is a dream.
The house has everything that you could possibly need and so close to Bath, that a quick bus journey of 10 minutes drops you off in the centre.
We enjoyed the stay that much, we have rebooked for later in the year , it is definitely a must try venue.
Many thanks, Jane & Tony

Tony & Jane Mackley,

Just a totally amazing home. Everything was absolutely perfect.

Dawn,

Magnificent Midford Mill..... This beautiful property is definitely a treat to experience. Nigel is a perfect host and nothing is too much trouble, with quick friendly responses. The house is sparkling clean, so cosy and comfortable and is the perfect blend of olde worlde charm, combined with advanced technology. The attention to detail in its renovation, restoration, furnishings, fittings and character are unsurpassed. Every room has a WOW factor, the kitchen AGA is amazing to use and the beds are supe comfy. This is definitely one of the most beautiful houses we have stayed in and we couldn't find fault with anything..... The only bad thing was that we had to leave! We just loved our stay here, felt quite honoured to experience such luxury in such a beautifully historic place and cannot recommend it highly enough!

Caro,

Treasure of a Home just Outside Bath...
This beautiful home in the countryside just outside of Bath exceeded our expectations! The four bedrooms, many sitting rooms, kitchen, and dining room provided plenty of comfortable space for our family of 5. The house was very clean. The decor is wonderful and the outside patio area is stunning! A stream runs along the patio and a beautiful green pasture is on the other side. We tried to spend as much time outside as weather permitted. It was very easy to jump on bus D2 to go to Bath and return. The bus stop is across the street from The Hope and Anchor pub which is a short walking distance away. The pub had good food and nice people. We would love to come back to spend more time enjoying this beautiful home and surrounding area. Nigel was wonderful to communicate with. He provided clear details and answered all of our questions in a timely manner.

4sjls,

The Mill House is absolutely breathtaking, the photographs do not do it justice. The house is beautifully decorated and the garden is maintained excellently. The location is perfect - not too far from central Bath but still in the countryside. I can not recommend this place enough!

Fabulous

Kirily (Australia),

Our family stayed at the fabulous Midford Mill for a surprise family weekend get away to celebrate Mums 70th birthday.

Booking was easy and I was impressed by all communication and the service received by Nigel and Alan.

The property itself is stunning. Lots of space for socialising even though the weekend weather wasn’t great.

The wood burner was lovely and really warmed up the space quickly. The two children quickly discovered all of the toys in the chest in the lounge... hours of fun!

The house is well appointed and the grounds are lovely. We enjoyed our walk around the garden between showers of rain!

We had a private chef cater for a Sunday lunch. The kitchen was big enough for him to cater for 8 of us with no problems. The dining space was lovely and where we spent most of our time.

Mum was chuffed to bits with our choice and particularly liked eating breakfast, sitting at the table whilst watching the ducks swimming down the river!

Highly recommended venue for a family get together.

Jules ,

Awesome place, great communal spaces and lovely equipped kitchen. Garden is truly fantastic and rooms are just perfect. Excellent communication. Highly recommend a stay here.

Anil,

We had a great time in the Bath region and the property was excellent, it really had the WOW! Factor. There was 10 of us, 4 travelling from Geneva to Bristol Airport only a short distance away. All occupants were comfortable in the house with plenty of space. The facilities provided were more than adequate with everything we needed. Appliances and contents were clean and well looked after. Adults and kids alike all enjoyed our 3 night stay and it really is as nice as the images show. Theres a good pub just 200 yards away, Bath 2.5 miles on a good walking route and many other walking routes in the area, including a couple from the house itself, all of which we loved. The process of taking occupancy and leaving was simple and hassle free. We just wished the weather was warmer enabling us to enjoy the outside just as much as the inside....and another 3 nights would have been very welcome as well, we didn't want to leave. We would definitely recommend this property to others who are looking for a similar size dwelling and would like to stay in the Bath area.

Simon L,

Midford Mill is really as spectacular as it looks on the photos. Generous reception rooms and dining room, well equipped kitchen.

Helen,

Our stay at Midford Mill was exceptional, on arrival we struggled to find the key to let us into the house so we called Nigel and he was very helpful guiding us to the combination box and made sure that we were in once we had found it. The house was clean and exactly like the pictures, we thoroughly enjoyed using the log burner in the living room and all the other amenities in the house. We did have a problem with the shower as the drain was blocked and slightly flooded the bathroom floor, this was at about 12am and I text Nigel straight away. I got a reply from him at 4.45am and he was round just after 7am to fix it, his response time and hospitality is incredible! We will definitely be returning but during summer next time so we can really make use of the beautiful outside space. Thanks for making my dad’s 60th a weekend to remember!

Holly,

What a wonderful house to spend New Year in with our family! We all arrived on December 28th for 4 nights, the house and gardens looked glorious in the late afternoon sun and we were welcomed with a lovely Christmas tree and decorations, an added touch. We were all really pleased with the large comfortable bedrooms, with plenty of room for my two daughters and their families with a cot, highchair and baby dishes provided . We enjoyed all the shared spaces and made plenty of use of the log burning stove in the cosy lounge, the large table in the dining area and the kitchen which was well stocked with plenty of dishes and glasswear for a party of our size- 8 adults and 2 babies, cooking on the Aga was interesting! We took the local bus into Bath from just around the corner, outside the local pub, 2 minutes walk from the house and enjoyed plenty of country walks in the area. There are several supermarkets a short drive away if needed. The house has plenty of room for a big group of family or friends with several cosy corners to sit in to get away from the crowd. The gardens looked wonderful although we weren't able to make use of the summer furniture provided as it was New Year but I imagine it must be a lovely area to enjoy the summer weather. I am very happy to recommend a stay here.

Christine Rees,

Gorgeous home sensitively renovated.

We were initially upset that the main bathroom was shared between all 4 bedrooms. The second bathroom is on the living room floors.

BUT the home is SO beautiful, the setting is fairy-book and Bath is gorgeous.

Hope & Anchor saved us many times with beautiful meals in a wonky dining room.

We would love to come back.

Nigel & sarah are great hosts - constantly adjusting water/warmth for our jetlagged party AND even finding our phone.

Highlights: 4 glorious bedrooms, a roaring life-affirming fire, a kitchen fuelled by an aga.

Maria B,

Beautiful place, completely surpassed our expactions and looks even better than the pictures. The sound of the waterfall lulls you to sleep and there is everything you will need for your stay. The walls and doors are so thick half your party can be celebrating a board game win and people sleeping in the bedrooms won’t hear a thing. The master bedroom is out of this world.

Malvina,

The wood stove and the overall accommodation were very good, although 1 bathroom was on the ground floor away from the bedrooms

Tim,

The most glorious countryside retreat.

We booked Midford Mill for my family to stay in around my wedding day. It was the most fantastic house. I think the photos actually don’t do justice to how spectacular it is.

Two incredible things - the free standing bath was just divine, and the master bedroom is like something out of a fairy tale. All the bedrooms were super comfortable and roomy though.

We also loved all the common spaces for catching up together and the beautiful outside areas.

All the team there were very easy to get in touch with and very helpful! Highly recommend!

Francesca,

We had a fantastic time staying in The Mill

House. Everything was clean and good quality. The hosts made the house so cosy with Christmas decorations and even individual stockings on our beds. A very thoughtful touch. The house has stunning views of the river from all of the bedrooms and especially from the dining room. The house is warm and comfortable. The cycle route through the 2 tunnels is amazing and also good for a local run. Thank you Nigel and Sarah for making our stay so lovely.

Caroline L,

AMAZING bath! Lovely comfy sitting room and huge table for eating. Great patio looking out onto the weir. Relaxed and welcoming

Emma,

Thank you we had a lovely weekend. The house was very comfortable and spacious. It was just what we needed for a family get together.

Tracey,

Warmth, Aga and log fire, comfortable bedrooms, pretty garden

Terence,

A wonderful holiday

We returned from a 6 night stay at the Mill House at Midford. Everything was perfect a beautiful house in a lovely location. Had brilliant night’s sleep to the sound of the stream outside, bedding gorgeous and beautifully laundered. There has been no scrimping on any of the kitchen items, China ware, glass ware and cutlery all lovely.

Anybody booking this house won’t be disappointed.

Pam M,

Very pleased with this house ! Congrats to all off them to keep this house at high standards for rent!
Very very beautiful house and clean 4 ***

Ovidiu,

Absolutely stunning property with all amenities, the grounds are beautiful. Very easy booking sand checking in process, host very easily available if needed. Highly recommend

Leanne N,

We were in Oxfordshire, England visiting family for 3 weeks, and decided to head out on a holiday-within-a-holiday to Bath. Stumbled upon the Midford Mill home from a popular holiday rental website and I could not have been happier with this gem. The moment we parked and walked down the steps (earlier than we were expected, as the drive from Stonehenge was much quicker than anticipated), we were in love with the property. The 7-yr old nephew loved the Youtube on the television in one living room, the father in law was thrilled with a separate television to watch football in the other living room! The teenage sons were excited to not have to share a bed, as was the case in other places we stayed during the trip. I was speechless with the beauty of the property, and could have spent over a week there just relaxing by the creek and strolling in the nearby countryside. We had dinner at the pub up the road- the food is amazing, but they do close between lunch and dinner so plan accordingly. Overall, one of the best parts of our trip to England and look forward to renting again when we come back to visit family.

Stacy L.,

The Mill is the most beautiful property in the perfect setting - simply wonderful!

Stayed here for a long weekend and didn’t want to leave; it is truly a home-from-home with everything you could need. Great location for Bath - quick and easy buy taxi.

Communication with Nigel and Sarah was wonderful also.

Thank you for having us - we will be back!

Louise P,

A really beautiful house, exactly as in the pictures, in a great location just outside of Bath. Perfect for big groups/families and with all the cooking and living amenities you could ever need! Thank you for your hospitality! All the best, Freddie

Freddie,

We were 2 families that spent 5 days at the Mill House in Aug 2018. Our children loved the outside space, stream & island to play in. The house itself lives up to its description. It has been well restored but still maintains some original features - uneven floors, beams, inside brickwork etc. All the bedrooms were very spacious. A game of hide & seek in the dark was very successful given the size of the place across 3 floors! Slightly lacking on the bathroom front, with the second bathroom on ground floor. We travelled into Bath itself & Cotswolds twice from Midford. All doable. Highly recommend the two tunnel cycle path which is practically on your door step. All in all a lovely place to stay.

Louise,

This home was fabulous! Has everything you need and very clean and comfortable. Perfect for a weekend away!

Alexandra L,

Exceeded all expectations for family stay

Beyond thrilled with our two night stay at the Mill House. Arrived a bit earlier than expected due to quicker than expected travel time from Stonehenge (fyi- it's about an hour), and the owners were there double checking the cleaning crews' work before our arrival. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with them, and were given a tour of the grounds which was perfect as we would've never known about the private island and walking paths! The house itself is absolutely amazing! I could spend more than a week here and not get bored with the gardens, foot paths, wonderful Hope & Anchor pub up the road. The kitchen is well stocked with necessities, beds are comfortable, eating area is relaxing and inviting; more than I could have hoped for in reserving a holiday home.

Trail3538,

Lovely nice cottage and garden, we have a very pleasant stay there, would definitely recommend to friends!

Anonymous (Hong Kong),

Lovely location, very cosy inside and with a huge patio area on the riverside. Faces away from the road so it's quiet and secluded.

Dan,

This is a must!! Beautiful property for all of us and i would strongly recommend we look forward staying again and what a great host

Darren,

Good location for visiting Bath - we used the park and ride - close to other lovely towns too such as Bradford on Avon and its historic barn. Nice easy walk from house along disused railway track which could also be a cycle ride for those bringing bikes. House is very comfortable and very well decorated - good for two families or extended family groups - games room with darts and table football well used by all of us - especially our five 18-25 year olds! Had weather been better we would have loved sitting on the patio enjoying the river setting and wonderful garden.

R Duke,

Amazing, amazing house with an idyllic setting and we’d love to go back. Champagne glasses and a nespresso machine - my perfect countryside retreat! There are also two highchairs-very useful for little people. We just had a brilliant time-thank you!!

Gigi ,

Midford Mill was such a beautiful house. Such good value for money. We will definitely be back.

Melissa

The whole experience. A fantastic building, and the proprietor(s) were also superb. We were only there for two nights, but wished it could have been longer. It was also only 200 yards walk to an excellent local pub.

Michael

We were a party of 9 who stayed at Midford Mill for 2 nights and could not have been happier. The house really has a wow factor with the stream running through the back garden it’s so peaceful. The rooms are lovely and large, beds comfy. There is so much lovely character and charm to the place. The owners checked in with us to make sure we had arrived and everything was ok but otherwise we were left to enjoy the house. It’s about 15 minutes from bath centre and really easy to drive/get taxis in.
